The Cabaret of Dangerous Ideas: Football, Data & Bilingualism
Three top academics, three dangerous ideas and your host comedian Susan Morrison. Dr Mason Robbins (The University of Edinburgh) argues that money has destroyed football and asks how small teams and fans can still be a part of the beautiful game in an era of multi-million pound deals. Nicola Osborne (The University of Edinburgh) explores why creative people are essential in reimagining our relationships with data. And Professor Antonella Sorace (The University of Edinburgh) worries that languages are a low priority as kids return to the classrooms. Can bilingualism and language diversity survive the pandemic?
