Getting On is a one-woman show set backstage in real-time. It follows Kerris as she prepares for her first solo stand-up hour, reflecting on what kept her from the stage.
For fans of both theatre and stand-up comedy, Getting On is a combination of humour and vulnerability - a declaration of creativity as an act of resilience.
This show is a debut solo show and is directed by Lee Kyle in support of promising comedy talent in the North East.
Lee is a stand up comedian and comedy director who has worked with comedians on a number of award winning, nominated and five star reviewed shows. Some praise for his direction is below:
Sammy Dobson:
“Lee has an incredible ability to find order, story and a bigger picture and help you find a route through and clarity in the noise. He’s incredibly supportive and funny to his bones. An absolute joy to work with.”
Elaine Robertson:
Lee is a fabulous director and encouraged me to tell stories I’ve wanted to tell but have previously been too nervous to try.
Neil Harris:
Lee watched me stumble through the worst preview imaginable — 30 minutes of silence — and, through a series of meetings, helped me craft a show I’m immensely proud of. A show built on my ideas, yet one I could never have created without him.
