GLASGOW | 20TH MARCH 2025 | DOORS 7PM SHOW 8PM | TICKETS £20 HERE
You may not know Dave McGregor but you will recognise him. He’s the face of the cowboy logo at The Stand Comedy Club. He’s also worked in The Stand behind the bar and on tech. In fact there’s been a member of the McGregor family working at The Stand for as long as there has been a Stand to stand in.
In December 2023, Dave and his partner Claire (also a previous employee of The Stand) had a son, Lui. During the birth Lui didn’t breathe for a considerable amount of time. The results of Lui’s MRI found that he has scarring in the centre of his brain. Everything that has been seen so far by health professionals is that Lui has Cerebral Palsy and an official diagnosis is expected at 24 months. The MRI further found that all four of Lui’s limbs will likely be affected. This means that he will have lifelong mobility issues and may also have issues with feeding, speech and communication.
There’s lifelong implications for Lui and the McGregor family. As treasured members of the comedy community - we want to do everything we can, to help Dave and Claire provide for Lui’s needs now and in the future.
Some of the best comics in the country are donating their time for free, to perform at Bona Fide's Comedy Gala for Lui @ The Stand - we guarantee one of the best line-ups of the festival with Jay Lafferty, Mark Nelson, Chris Thorburn, Kai Humphries and many more to come!
Tickets £20
All proceeds minus VAT and booking fees (capped at £4.80) will go to Lui.
