Show Information

Fresh from his international success as one of the best deleted scenes in the award winning movie ‘ I Daniel Blake ‘ veteran Geordie comic and newspaper columnist Mike Milligan launches his latest solo show . After previously packing his venue at the Jesterval Comedy festival with his ‘selfhelplessness’ show, he now brings us “Shearer shared me Pram ‘. In it , Mike shares the myths, tales, madness and magic of an upbringing in the warm heart of an ‘ordinary’ northern family. Indeed , Mike aims to show us there’s a true legend in all of our lives as we laugh in the shadow of adversity- or in his case - the shadow of the Dunston ‘Rocket’ block flats made famous in the eighties crisps commercial. We’ll witness his early political awakenings as he asked “why can’t me gran be the queen?”, search for Pegasus on a council estate, learn when it’s ok to wear socks in the garden and discover how his grandad was a latter - day stoic philosopher. We’ll also find out how Mike really did share that Pram with a football legend ...

Mike has written and performed for TV and radio, including; Spender, Byker Grove, Catherine Cookson dramas, Justice for Gemma (Granada) ,B.B.C’s Ross King Show, Radio 4’s Afternoon Shift and Weekending, The Paddy Kielty Show, Danni’s Dares (Ch.4), Running Jokes (Yorkshire T.V), Bundy’s rum TV campaign (Australia), It’s Funny up North (I.T.V 3), Premiership football match Promo trailer {ESPN).

Mike also appeared in Ken Loach’s award winning movie ‘I Daniel Blake ‘ as well as ITV’s latest series of ‘Vera’.  He provided a voiceover for Viz Comic’s highly successful Sid the Sexist DVD, as well as performing his character live in concert at Newcastle City Hall. He also writes a popular weekly column in the Evening Chronicle and has performed a sell out one man show based upon them at the Jesterval comedy festival.
