SUSAN RIDDELL

Best Scottish Newcomer Nominee and Funny Women Runner Up Susan Riddell presents a preview of her debut show for this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Championing laziness in an increasingly manic world, Susan would much prefer a duvet day than a wedding day. If life itself makes you want to hide under the blankets, join Susan as she ponders marriage, relationships, growing up, and why pyjamas are always a sensible outfit choice.

The rising star’s astute observations and sparkling wit have already been highlighted as a Must Watch Show at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival (The Scotsman). After winning a place in BBC Writer’s Room Fast and Funny, Susan has gone on to be widely regarded as one of the rising stars of Scottish comedy. With regular appearances on BBC Radio Scotland’s Breaking the News and The Comedy Underground as well as the BBC sketch show The State of It. Susan wrote, created and starred in several on-line comedy sketches for BBC Short Stuff which have garnered nearly 3 million views and counting. Other writing credits and acting roles include Channel 4 and BBC One’s spoof cop show Scot Squad, while she is currently working on a sitcom pilot with the BBC.

Susan recently performed stand up at the Edinburgh Fringe in both CKP’s Lunchtime Special and the BBC Presents Comedy Tent. She was also a regular contributor with a humorous weekly column for The Daily Record newspaper.

ROSCO MCCLELLAND

Rosco McClelland unashamedly lived in his own world until he got engaged. But when cancer threatens the tranquility of pre marital bliss, it offers up a level of fear that makes all others shrink in comparison whilst questioning his strength and resolve.

Rosco McClelland’s enigmatic and psychedelic comedy brain has conjured up an exhilarating and uplifting yet deeply personal show this year. A highly regarded act and compere in the UK scene, this year has seen him breakthrough to TV. Fronting BBC Scotland show “Up For It” with close friends Christopher MacArthur-Boyd and Ashley Storrie. As Winner of Scottish comedian of the year 2016 and regular BBC Scotland TV warm up act he has the ability to charm any audience with his own sui generis style.

'Natural ability as a storyteller and the miner of laughs.. well written and delivered. Rosco McClelland is definitely a comic to watch"  ★★★★ One 4 Review

'Rosco is a gifted storyteller, with great stage presence and, of course, fantastic gags. His informal, chatty style makes for an exciting show that can go literally anywhere' ★★★★ Ed Fest Magazine

Arrive Early for Seating
Tickets for the majority of our shows can be collected at the venue door upon entry however we would still advise arriving a little in advance of our door opening time. This allows you to join a queue as all venues are general admission and a mixture of seating and standing room. This is especially true for Edinburgh and Newcastle if you aim to eat in our clubs as seating with tables tend to be taken quite quickly and we can’t allocate or reserve seating in advance for that purpose.

For Edinburgh Fringe dates during August, we advise you arrive at least 30 minutes before doors open for your selected shows to collect your festival tickets. This allows you to join a queue as all venues are general admission. All venues are seated apart from Stand 1 which is seating and standing room. There is no food service during Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
