Zoe Lyons - Entry Level Human

Friday 5th October 2018

She's a regular on 'Mock the Week' and a much-loved figure on 'Live At the Apollo' as well as being all over Radio 4 - for whom she's making her very own series in 2018, after extensive stints on 'The News Quiz', 'Just a Minute', 'The Now Show' and plenty more. All the makes it sound like Zoe Lyons has some sort of idea what she's doing in life. But does she? Or is she the perfect example of an Entry Level Human?
Decide for yourself, as this hugely popular comic returns with a fresh crop of 'quick-fire observational gags, delivered with utter conviction' Chortle, not to mention 'proper laugh-out-loud one-liners' Herald. And, she 'has what it takes to delight any crowd'. That one's from the Guardian. Are you going to argue with them? Actually, don't answer that.
Just come and see Zoe to find out.
'A hugely enjoyable mix of brutal put-downs and richly funny stories, Lyons has what it takes to delight any crowd' Guardian
'Zoe Lyons really cuts the mustard' Scotsman
'Confident and razor sharp' Observer

Scott Gibson - Anywhere But Here

Saturday 6th October 2018

Award-winning comedian Scott Gibson is back on the road with his eagerly anticipated third solo hour, Anywhere But Here.
Scott was just 16 when he first tasted freedom from the shackles of parental control. Only a wee thing, he was accompanied by an army of seven fearless school friends as they left the rural idylls of Renfrewshire behind them, setting course for a voyage of discovery.
Their destination? Kavos, of course. Where else?
Delivered in his breathlessly inimitable style, Gibson takes you on an epic odyssey that charts the bullheaded adventures and choppy waters of youth. A reflective and blisteringly funny treatise on the escapism and hedonism that travel promises, this is a story about friendship, love, pool parties, travel insurance, pushing your limits, plunging headfirst into the deep and the Greek third-choice goalie.
In recent years, Scott has successfully established himself as one of the best Scottish comedians of his generation, a title that was cemented when he received the Edinburgh Comedy Awards’ Best Newcomer trophy at the 2016 Fringe. He is also known as resident MC for BBC Introduces in Scotland, as host of The Hashtag Show, and for supporting some of the biggest names in comedy on their national tours.
Winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer 2016.
'A big, bold, belter of a debut… riotously funny… his storytelling skills are undoubtedly degree-level standard' ***** Herald
'The most I’ve laughed this week is in Gibson’s snortingly hilarious hour…a huge number of laughs from beginning to end' ***** Chortle
'Irvine Welsh meets Billy Connoll' ***** Evening Standard
'You’ll be left howling throughout his set…this guy has no shortage of talent… gut-bustingly funny' ***** Broadway Baby
'You need to remember his name because he’s going to be big… an absolute pick of the Fringe' ***** Mirror
Duration 1 hour.

The panel show based on the movies
Not based on movie trivia but on the premise of films with teams battling it out to be the best at having nothing and everything to do with the movies
Ridiculous games and jokes a plenty with two teams of amazing comics hosted by Matt Reed .
It's the best panel show about films that isn't really about films out there

Paul Sinha: Shout Out to My Ex

Friday 12th October 2018

In his 2015 Edinburgh Fringe show, comedian and doyen of daytime, Paul Sinha , weaved an intricate tale of happiness based on a combination of doing the two jobs he loved, enjoying parental approval, and, actually being in a proper, grown-up, long-term relationship. The day after he returned home, the illusion of happiness was shattered. Was this the end? The beginning of the end? Or the end of a beginning?
‘Life will bring him crashing down to earth soon enough. And that really ought to sustain his densely funny and accomplished comedy.’ Scotsman

Phil Nichol – Your Wrong

Friday 19th October 2018

Trump. Your wrong. Brexit. Your wrong. Facebook. Your wrong. Tinder. Your wrong. Religion. Your wrong. Fashion. Your wrong. Grammar. Your wrong!
We are being watched. Whether it’s the grammar Nazis on the internet, the court of public opinion in the media, the government through our smart phones, the aliens from deep in the crust of the moons of Jupiter, or by God himself, we are being monitored. The pressure to "get it right" is tremendous! Right?
Your Wrong questions the nature of understanding and explores our modern day need to be right about everything.

Lee Kyle's White Elephant Stall

Sunday 28th October 2018

Lee Kyle , the regular host of our kids show, brings a family show where anything can happen.
I mean, within reason, he's not going to split an atom or anything.
The show will be different each month, sometimes it'll be a game show, sometimes a quiz, sometimes improv, sometimes a chat show. Sometimes there will be guests, sometimes there won't. Maybe it'll be a musical one month! Sometimes, Lee won't even be there and there'll be someone else doing the show instead - but they'll be awesome too!
No matter what, it's going to be brilliant man. Come along, don't be a square.
Best suited for 8-12's. Sorry, no under 5's and all young comedy fans must be accompanied by an adult.
Fancy a Sunday Roast? Why nor book a table in our Bistro upstairs for after the show? We also do Kids Sunday Lunches for only £5!
Hot food available in the club or why not treat yourself to some pre-show dining at The Stand Bistro open Mon/Tues from 5pm (show nights only), Wed-Sat from 11am and noon on Sundays.
