GEORGE EGG: DIY CHEF

Monday 12th March 2018

Lakin McCarthy presents
GEORGE EGG : DIY CHEF (Edinburgh Preview)
Following sell out Edinburgh Fringe runs in 2015 and 2016 plus a sell out UK tour, award winning comedian George Egg (the ‘Anarchist Cook’) returns with a BRAND NEW SHOW demonstrating more live cooking and laugh-out-loud comedy.
In ‘DIY CHEF’ George‘s doctor has told him he needs to rethink his culinary habits and as a result his family have banned him from using the kitchen. They’ve banished him to the shed. But George simply has to keep cooking and his unstoppable urge to be creative means inventive solutions and some seriously tasty food.
It’s funny, inspiring and absurd in equal measure, a cross-genre show falling somewhere between a stand-up comedy set and an illustrated lecture. Expect power tools, gardening equipment and office supplies to be abused and re-purposed. Expect lots of laughs. Expect to learn something new. And you get to taste the food at the end.*

ROB ROUSE - Are You Sitting Comfortably?

Monday 19th March 2018

Lakin McCarthy presents
ROB ROUSE - Are You Sitting Comfortably?
He’s married, has two kids, a dog and an eye-watering mortgage, (is in debt) in these times of austerity and uncertainty, but remains resolute that a career in unpredictable world of comedy was absolutely the right way to go. (It’s far too late to try something else now.)
Rob takes this trademark comedic storytelling to a career high in this full length show, as he leads us on an irresistibly hilarious journey of enforced introspection, that has taught him to relinquish any attempts to control his life and to face down literally one of the most awkward situations you’re ever likely to hear about.
Most definitely a middle-aged bloke Rob happily holds his hands up as being about as ‘un-sexy’ as it’s possible to be in terms of broad brush ‘Key Marketing Demographics’*, but as a stand-up, he is in the form of his life.
*Rob sincerely believes there is a currently ‘un-tapped’ key demographic out there for him and you, dear reader are it.
'Belly laugh funny' Herald
'He’s a man with genuinely funny bones' Sunday Times
'The tears of laughter came in floods… a sustained piece of observational storytelling which just peaked and peaked…' Scotsman
Rob stars as ‘Bottom’, (Shakespeare’s manservant) in ‘Upstart Crow’ BBC show written by Ben Elton
Rob has also appeared in 8 out of 10 cats, Dave’s One Night Stand, The Friday Night Project, Spoons, Celebrity Juice, Live at the Comedy Store,

Thursday 22nd March 2018

The majestic mountain moose in a tiger striped onesie brings his thrilling new show 'Easy Tiger' out of the Fringe jungle and onto the world stage for his 3rd solo tour.

Expect a raucous evening of post-scratchin' and kickin' litter aboot the hoose while Campbell tickles chins, keeping purrs and treadles generous throughout! No rabbits, mice or children and please be kind to our neighbours by not crapping in their gardens on the way home!
Find yourself a comfy lap and settle in for an evening of hilarity as Canada's furriest friend disgorges all your favourite spittle impregnated cultural furballs- retching his own: (why the hell do your coffee shops close at 6pm!!!?? You don't even like coffee!?? This isn't your call to make!!) onto your favourite comfy tea-sipping slippers.

'A fantastic yarn weaver, with charming tales of his travels and hugely funny observations' Time Out

Saturday 24th March 2018
